Give Peggy a Second Chance at Life

One generous person could change everything.

Peggy’s Story

Peggy Thayer is 60 years old and has been married to Richard Thayer for 41 years. Together, they have three children, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

In March 2016, Peggy was diagnosed with stage 3 polycystic kidney disease (PKD) and was eventually told she would need a kidney transplant. In 2023, she was placed on the transplant list. In 2024, Peggy and her family began searching for a living donor, and in the spring of 2025, they found Ryden.

On April 14, Peggy and Ryden both underwent transplant surgery. Unfortunately, complications during surgery caused the transplanted kidney to become nonfunctioning. After a period of recovery, Peggy will be placed back on the transplant list and is now beginning the search again for a living donor.

Peggy & Ryden’s Story

Peggy and Ryden

In the spring of 2025, Peggy and her family found hope in a living donor—Ryden. Throughout the process, Ryden remained persistent and committed, overcoming many obstacles to give Peggy a chance at life. His determination, generosity, and kindness were an incredible gift to Peggy and to everyone who loves her.

On April 14, Peggy and Ryden went into surgery together with hope for a brighter future. Tragically, complications during surgery caused the transplanted kidney to fail.

Even though the transplant was not successful, Ryden’s compassion and selfless effort will never be forgotten. Peggy and her family will always be deeply thankful for all he did, and for the hope he gave them when they needed it most.

Now, Peggy is beginning the search again for a living donor, with hope that one more person may be willing to change her future.
